Older people’s campaigner Baroness Sally Greengross OBE has been confirmed as the new Patron of the National Association of Care Catering (NACC), an announcement welcomed by the organisation’s supporters with Baroness Greengross already renowned as a fierce care sector campaigner via her role as chief executive of think-tank the International Longevity Centre UK.
National chair of the NACC, Karen Oliver, commented as the patronage was announced at the organisation’s Training and Development Forum in Blackpool last month:
“The shared passion for improving the quality and provision of Social Care held by the NACC and Baroness Sally Greengross makes her the perfect Patron for our association. We are overjoyed that she has agreed to be our Patron. Her relentless work in the field is greatly respected by everyone involved in the NACC, and indeed in care catering, and we whole-heartedly appreciate any time and support that she is able to give to us.
“Baroness Greengross’ patronage and contribution can only strengthen our cause. We have no doubt that her involvement will help raise the profile of our vital work to a wider audience, add gravitas to our campaigns and initiatives, and ultimately help us continue to raise standards in care catering, and highlight and tackle the issues and challenges faced by the sector. We very much look forward to working with her, and benefiting from her immense knowledge and experience, over the course of the next year. As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, I cannot think of a better way to launch the second quarter of a century for the NACC!”
