Richmond Villages Letcombe Regis in Oxfordshire received the latest accolade and just a few weeks ago the company had success in the RHS Gardening Excellence and RHS Thriving Awards for its village at Painswick in Gloucestershire.

In awarding Gold to the Letcombe Regis gardens, the judges commented that their decision was based on the provision of a: “fantastic living environment with everything the residents could want”.

The judges appreciated the garden’s vibrant and dense planting providing colour, fragrance and stimulation for those living there. Its hazard free, level paths encourage residents to interact and meander in the gardens, enjoying and benefitting from the fresh air.

The judges were particularly impressed by the community spirit generated by the shared organic kitchen garden and bowling green.

Elisabeth Parker, village manager of Richmond Letcombe Regis: “The initial design for the village ensured that the buildings and grounds blended harmoniously with the local environment. This award is a great recognition for our gardeners and residents who work so hard to create and maintain such a wonderful and tranquil environment. We are all very proud of their achievements.”
