On 31st October 2012, care provider, Gold Care Homes expanded its operations in the Northern counties with the acquisition of eight more care homes from the care group, Viridian Housing. Five of which are free hold and three are under management contracts. Six of the homes are based in London and the other two are based in Birmingham. This is the third acquisition made by Gold Care Homes this year and follows on from the acquisition of St Stephens Care Home in Worcester and Martins House in Stevenage.

Gold Care started with its first home in 1999, Queensway House, which was refurbished from an ex social services home. It recently had a 26 bedded purpose built extension.

Due to the expansion, Gold Care will be appointing a new Chief Operating Officer and intends to go regional with four regions, each consisting of about 300 beds, headed by a Regional Manager. The Regional Managers will be supported by a Head of Care.

These are exiting times for Gold Care, they will be striving for excellence and aspire to be the number one provider for Dementia Care Services.

Gold Care Homes provides care for elderly people who have residential, nursing and dementia needs. Over 95% of their beds are single en-suites with high quality care.

Gold Care is in the process of building a purpose built 80 bedded Residential and Nursing care home in West Drayton due to open in December 2013.

One of the aims Ravi and Sukhi Gidar, Directors of Gold Care Homes, was to expand the company to over 1000 beds. They are extremely pleased they have achieved this, especially in this difficult economic time. Ravi Gidar predicts that times will continue to be difficult for the next couple of years and then as the smaller non-compliant homes close there will be a shortage of care beds. He also thinks the amalgamation of the health and social care budget is inevitable and could save the government money if it is managed in a planned way.

Gold Care Home’s portfolio now consists of 23 homes with a total number of beds being over 1150. Gold Care always strives to provide excellent care in modern comfortable surroundings.

Gold Care’s mission statement is to, “Enhance the lives of residents in our care by bringing them joy, happiness and fulfilment”.

Gold Care Home’s Head Office is based in Uxbridge. The address is Gidar House, 13 The Crossway, Uxbridge, Middlesex, UB10 0JH.
