Holt Green Residential Homes Ltd have saved the jobs of 16 carers at Ormskirk’s Willow Lodge care home and made secure nursing and dementia care packages for 22 clients.
Formerly known as Moss View, Willow Lodge’s future had been in doubt until Holt Green’s owners recognised its quality performance as worth saving, while also seeing the potential for further modernisation.
New owner, Joan Parr, who also owns Silver Birch Lodge in Aughton, said: “I am delighted to add Willow Lodge to our portfolio. Whilst the existing standards of the home meet the CQC guidelines, working with the current manager, Diane Barkley, I have ambitious plans to make Willow Lodge one of the leading care homes in West Lancashire, beginning with a refurbishment and the implementation of thorough staff training at all levels.
“We are seeking to be recognised as first class provider of residential care for the elderly and those with mild dementia. Silver Birch has an excellent reputation locally – one which I’m confident will be shared with Willow Lodge moving forward.”
has been a family business of Joan Parr and her husband Jim since the home was transferred to them in 2002. The home is accredited to gold standard Investor in People and registered to offer care and nursing for up to 30 older people.
Holt Green Training (HGT) is also part of the group portfolio, meaning Willow Lodge is set to benefit from further workforce development from an experienced care training provider, itself set up by Mr and Mrs Parr when they concluded there to be a lack of training opportunities in the region.
