Sanctuary Group opens new care home with purpose built dementia suite

Leading care provider Sanctuary Group has opened a new care home with a purpose built dementia suite in Iffley in Oxford.

The home, which will be managed by Sanctuary Care, has 76 en-suite bedrooms including rooms for couples, a cinema room, music room, library, communal lounges and dining areas, a hairdressing salon and restaurant dining.

Len Merton, Sanctuary Care’s director of care said: “It was wonderful to see so many people from the local community join together to celebrate the unveiling of our stunning home, which will be a real asset to the community.”

“We have three other homes in Oxfordshire which are very much at the heart of their communities, so I am looking forward to seeing how the residents of our new flagship home thrive and flourish in what is truly a wonderful environment.”

Iffley residential and nursing home in Anne Greenwood Close was officially opened by Lord Mayor of Oxford, cllr Alan Armitage, with one of the home’s very first residents, 95-year-old Joan Critchley.
