Richmond Villages, one of the leading groups of retirement villages, are launching a new radio show which will be tuned into by residents as it becomes available to listen to online.
There are carers on site 24 hours a day in all five Richmond Villages, who build and operate luxury retirement villages.
Richmond Radio will be bringing a blend of features, guests, music for all tastes and topical discussion to listeners through www.thisisthecat.com which is hosting the programme.
Nicola Tooke, the presenter of the show is also village advisor at in Cheshire. Ms Tooke is a Part-time DJ and said:
“We want to offer broad and topical programmes to those who tune-in from our villages and elsewhere around the world,” says Nicola. “Material will be kept lively and interesting with a lot of music, so very much along the lines of the Jeremy Vine Show on BBC Radio 2.”
There will be instant win quizzes and feature led lifestyle content on a wide range of topics including gardening and interviews from experts.
Ms Tooke continued “We’re so pleased that Richmond Radio has become a reality,” said Paddy Brice, managing director of Richmond Villages. “Born out of one of those ‘wouldn’t it be a great idea’ suggestions by one of our residents, it is already proving extremely popular. It offers just the right mix of music, news and entertainment, and made all the more relevant to our audience by our very own budding DJ, Nicola Tooke, who fully appreciates what her listeners want to hear.”
Interview guests will include fellow radio presenter Jennie Carr, who presents a weekly travel show on Age UK radio and works for Silver Travel as well as local community champion of the year Olwyn Payton.
