Voyage Care has announced the acquisition of Independent Learning Group

Voyage Care, who provide care services for people with learning disabilities, brain injuries and other complex needs, has announced the acquisition of Independent Living Group (ILG).

ILG have 28 homes in the south of England which provide care and support for people with complex needs.

Bruce McKendrick, Voyage Care’s chief executive commented: “Like Voyage, ILG focuses on its people and the provision of quality, specialist care. We welcome this high quality business into the Voyage portfolio and believe we will learn much from each other, making the enlarged business even stronger.”

Equity from Voyage’s majority shareholders, HgCapital and SL Capital Partners has helped fund the transaction, bringing ILG under the Voyage umbrella which has been providing services for over 20 years.

Voyage provides its specialist support to more than 2,100 people across the UK in 262 registered homes. They also help people in supported living locations and 12 day care centres, and deliver 17,500 hours of support per week for people living in their own homes.

ILG employ over 500 staff across their homes to provide high quality support to adults with learning disabilities, Huntington’s disease and other related complex needs.

As well as making tailor made packages to help people looking for guidance for themselves or a relative, Voyage offer guidance on issues such as housing and benefits.
