The first ever Care Home Managers seminar and workshop, taking place in Alfrison, East Sussex on 26 April 2013 will be opened by award winning care home manager Asvinta Thakkar.

Ms Thakkar is the winner of the UK’s Care Home Manager of the year 2012, and will be talking about how her passion for working with other people to provide exceptional care for the residents in her home led to winning the highly recognised award in the care sector.

She will be focusing on how she created a person centred approach to care, allowing residents to have control and choice about how their care home was run.

She will discuss the importance of incorporating residents with the team of carers so that they are always treated with dignity and respect.

Ms Thakkar’s speech will be followed by a two hour workshop for care managers to understand the key elements for a successful business as well as providing important advice about steps for improving their care home.

Jim Bruckshaw, organiser of Business Cornerstones said: “The aim of the morning’s event is to help care home managers operate their care businesses more effectively and more profitably. It is an opportunity for all managers to get free, expert advice specific to their needs and to leave with a three point action plan to implement immediately.”

There will be 20 experts present from every aspects of business to talk to managers and help them to improve standards of care.
