Staff at Christian charity Mission Care will raise money for care home residents who are living with dementia by taking part in a midnight bike ride around London.

Seven members of staff from the charity, which provides nursing and residential care at five homes in Bromley and Southwark, and one supplier will take part in Nightrider on 8 June.

They will be raising money to buy specialist equipment to help residents at Mission Care homes who are living with dementia. They hope to raise enough to buy bubble sensory lamps, football reminiscence albums and fibre optic lamps.

The 100 kilometre bike ride will see participants cycle by some of London’s most famous landmarks, including Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf and Piccadilly Circus.

Steve Parker, senior finance officer at Mission Care, said: “I’m really looking forward to cycling past the iconic landmarks and watching the sun rise over the horizon whilst raising money for our residents.”
