Senior staff at Shropshire’s largest independent care provider are celebrating after they were awarded with a prestigious Dementia Care qualification.
A number of staff from Coverage Care Services were recently presented with City & Guilds Level 3 certificates after they completed a six-month training course under the guidance of SBC Training.
The course is aimed at people in positions of responsibility who are able to provide specialist support to other team members. It reflects the Government’s ‘Living well with dementia’ strategy which outlines the need for people with dementia and their carers to be supported and cared for by a trained workforce.
Speaking at the presentation David Coull, chief executive of Coverage Care Services, said: “That so many of our senior carers have achieved this qualification demonstrates our commitment to providing the very best care and support our residents with dementia.
“We always strive to be at the forefront of new thinking and practice in this area and felt confident that by partnering with SBC Training we’d be fulfilling that.
“I’d like to personally congratulate all those who have received certificates today.”
Alison Roberts, from SBC Training, said: “SBC Training is one of very few training providers in the area to offer this City & Guilds course and we have been delighted to support Coverage Care as they further their expertise in this area.”
