The Mayor of Bromley has officially opened a new care home in Orpington.

Councillor Michael Turner was joined by his wife Janice at Foxbridge House for the ceremony, which was attended by around 70 people. After Cllr Turner cut the ribbon and declared the home open, guests enjoyed a buffet, cream teas and music from the Swingtime Sweethearts.

Rachel Adams, care home manager, said: “It was a fantastic day. Everyone really enjoyed it and we were so pleased the Mayor and Mayoress were able to come along and perform the opening ceremony for us.

“We are very proud of our new home. It has excellent facilities, including a coffee shop, a cinema, hairdressing and nail salons and a secret garden. All the rooms are en-suite and some even have their own patios.

“We provide residential, dementia and nursing care and we are very much looking forward to welcoming new residents in the coming weeks.”

The home, in Sevenoaks Road, has room for 84 residents.
