Stonehaven Care Group has acheived the Investors in People accreditation, after staff from six of their care homes were assessed on their role within the organisation.
Investors in People specialises in improving businesses by working with people within a company to improve services, and randomly selected staff members to assess the current level of care being provided.
The care group directors organised the assessment in order to find out how well their care homes were being run and ensure that the level of care being provided was to a high standard.
Nathan Stone, director of Stonehaven care group said: ”We undertook ’Investors in People’ at this time for two main reasons. Firstly, because we were cautiously confident that we would achieve recognition and secondly because we were keen to use the thorough assessment process as a review of what we do in order to identify areas where improvements can be made.
”The assessments took place over 3 days during which time the assessor visited 6 of our care homes and met with randomly selected individuals from all roles within the organisation.”
Many examples of good care were highlighted in the assessment report, which stated: ”The primary focus of everyone I met is on the excellent care of the residents and to cherish them in order to make their time as rewarding as possible.
”Your home managers are a thoroughly impressive bunch. I was struck by their professionalism, consideration and commitment. They are all very much appreciated by those who work for them and who rely on their quiet but assured support.”
As well as celebrating their accreditation, directors of the Stonehaven Care group have committed to continue to make improvements to their delivery of care to residents in all eight of their care homes.
