Planning permission has been granted for a new care home in Poole which is set to have a contemporary design running through its five and a half storeys.

Primetower’s managing director John Yeoman said, “With the success of our Care Home at The Links in Broadstone we decided that a more contemporary design approach would be more appealing to our intended elderly residents and their families and provide a more attractive homely environment. Now that we have secured planning permission we intend to commence development this year and plan to be open towards the end of 2014.”

The proposal, named ‘The Lindsay’ will be Primetower Care’s second care home and will be based on a previously vacant site.

The area had been a cause for concern for local people due to the repeated vandalism of the redundant building currently on the site, but the new plans hope to boost the area by creating a modern care home and new jobs in the community.

It is predicted that between 20 and 30 jobs will be created at the care home which will care for up to 68 residents.
