Not-for-profit care provider Outlook Care has opened its first major design & build project, in the shape of 66-capacity Foxburrow Grange.

Made possible through a partnership with the project management team, the £4.7m facility is designed to suit person-centred care for individuals with complex mental health, a learning disability, and those diagnosed with dementia.

Speaking at the home’s opening, which was attended by co-chair of the Dementia Friendly Communities Champion Group Angela Rippon, Outlook Care chief executive Penny Taylor commented:

“Dementia is one of the biggest challenges we face as a society. As one in three people will develop dementia in the future, we need to work together to raise awareness and understanding. It is estimated that the number of people within the geographical area of Essex, Southend and Thurrock is currently more than 22,000.”

Foxburrow Grange Care Home has already welcomed its first residents, all of whom have their privacy supported with en-suite facilities, as well as having a choice of lounge, dining room and sitting room areas. On site additions include assisted bathrooms, disabled toilets, a sluice room and even a pharmacy.

Landscaped gardens surround the four separate wings of the property, which also boasts extensive communal facilities, such as a cinema, gymnasium, health spa, internet café and community centre, having been designed with the vision of supporting an active and interesting lifestyle.
