Sir Alan Haselhurst, MP for Saffron Walden in Essex, recently visited the site of a new £15m Retirement Villages Group home in Great Easton to see how development is progressing.

Sir Alan was given a tour of Maynard House - 26 luxury apartments built on the same site as Moat House Care Home - by staff and was pleased with what he saw, describing it as a “jewel in the crown” and praising the “dazzling lifestyles” that will be on offer to residents.

Following his visit, he said: “It was a great pleasure to visit the site and to see how progress is being made to what will clearly be a fantastic retirement village. I found it interesting to talk to the developers and gain an insight into the benefits this development will bring to the area and how it will meet the sophisticated needs of those in later life.”

Sarah Burgess, sales and marketing director at Retirement Villages Group, said: “We are very proud of this development and were delighted to welcome Sir Alan to the site to review progress and to receive such a positive reaction.”

The construction of Maynard House is expected to be finished next spring but potential residents will have the opportunity to reserve an apartment at special launch events on 12 and 13 September.
