An Akari Care home in Wigan has won praise from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following a recent inspection.
Inspectors commended staff at Lindsay House, which provides residential care for 25 elderly people, for achieving a number of standards set out by the regulatory body, including meeting nutritional needs and assessing and monitoring the quality of service provision.
In their report, inspectors noted that residents were provided with “tasty and nutritious food” and that people’s “privacy, dignity and independence were respected”, while they received “experienced care, treatment and support that met their needs and protected their rights”.
Home manager Lindsay Craddock is “extremely pleased” with the outcome of the inspection. She said: “I am extremely pleased with the result of the CQC report and all the positive feedback that it included. Hearing the excellent reviews and comments from our residents is very rewarding.
“The report is testament to the staff at Lindsay House, who work extremely hard to ensure we exceed all standards set by CQC and make this a homely, safe and comfortable environment for our residents to live in.”
