Residents at Alexandra House care home, in Gateshead, are set to enjoy extra treats after a sponsored fun run raised more than £200 for their comfort fund.
Care home staff, residents’ families and their friends joined them for the event, which saw them walk around the local area and visit Satwell Park.
The money raised by the fun run will be put towards a variety of extra treats, including days out.
Shirley Summerbell, care home manager, said: “We like to go the extra mile for our residents and we are really pleased with the amount that we raised for the comfort fund. It was a great fundraiser as the residents really enjoyed their time in the community with staff and their friends and family.”
Alexandra House, part of Akari Care, is a purpose built home that provides specialist dementia care.
