Residents from three Sanctuary Care homes showcased their artwork during a special exhibition in Worcester.
More than 20 people from Cranham Residential Care Home in Worcester, Ravenhurst Residential Care Home in Stourport-on-Severn and Hastings Residential Care Home in Malvern, displayed their work at the MOVEMENT Gallery.
In the lead up to the exhibition, entitled ‘Creativity in Care’, residents took part in a variety of workshop, equipping them with the skills needed to create the variety of colourful micro-oil paintings that were displayed in Worcester.
Sophie Atkinson, head of community investment and sustainability at Sanctuary Care, is delighted with the success of the project. She said: “We are really pleased with how our support has helped make it possible for residents to get more involved in art. Our residents find art both enjoyable and therapeutic so they have relished the opportunity to participate in these exciting sessions and show their creative side.”
Nina Coulson, co-founder of MOVEMENT Gallery, added: “We are really excited to be working in partnership with Sanctuary Group. The workshops we have hosted at the care homes have proved very popular and it has been really encouraging to see so many people getting involved and trying their hand at contemporary visual art.
“This exhibition was a fantastic opportunity for Sanctuary Care’s residents to showcase their work and demonstrates what can be achieved through art workshops.”
