A memorial bench has been dedicated to a “well-loved and respected” Amore Care kitchen assistant who has tragically killed in a road accident.
Mary Byrne, 51, worked at Cooper House, in Bradford, from 2010 until her death in April.
Staff and residents from the home, as well as Ms Byrne’s family and friends, paid tribute to her during a celebration of her life, where The Rev Marian Gaskill blessed the bench. The bench, which will be kept in the home’s gardens, bears a plaque dedicated to Ms Byrne.
After the memorial, which included an afternoon tea , home manager Keith Wilson said: “Mary was a well-loved and respected member of staff, who is much missed by her colleagues, residents and friends at Cooper House.
“The home has a great atmosphere of support and companionship, and Mary was a big part of the Cooper House ‘family’. “We wanted to pay tribute to Mary and thought a bench in our beautiful garden would be a lovely way of honouring her memory.”
