Residents at a Sanctuary Care home in Bromsgrove showed off the results of a garden makeover during their summer fete last weekend.

The event, held at Breme Residential Care Home, saw visitors enjoy a variety of entertainment, including a balloon sculpting artist and a live band. They also enjoyed a picnic in the newly improved outdoor area.

The new gardens, which now feature a beach area and raised flowerbeds, were renovated by volunteers from the local community, including a team from the Bromsgrove branch of Asda. The makeover was part of a project, funded by the Sanctuary Group’s Community Investment Fund, to make the gardens more suitable for needs of the residents.

Denise Clark, home manager, is “absolutely thrilled” with the results of the makeover and thought the summer fete was the perfect way to showcase it to members of the public. She said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the improvements to our garden, which is the result of a lot of hard work from our volunteers. We would like to say a massive thanks to those who volunteered from the community and our local branch of Asda and the Sanctuary Maintenance and Community Investment team who really helped us out.

“We thought what better way to show off our new garden than to hold a day of activities, entertainment and fun for people of all ages. Our residents had a wonderful day and it was lovely inviting along friends, family and the local community to join in the fun.”
