With winter approaching and an increasing amount of older people in Britain requiring support to live comfortably Richmond Care Villages has tailored its services to those who just need a ‘helping hand,’ in the form of an assisted living service.

Elisabeth Parker, village manager at Richmond’s newest village at Letcombe Regis in Oxfordshire said: “Assisted Living is a philosophy of care and support services that promotes independence, dignity and wellbeing. It is now firmly established as an alternative to residential care, where people can retain much of their independence in a socially active community. By purchasing their apartment, it’s an ideal combination of having your own front door and with the reassurance that care and support is available on site 24 hours a day.” The sitting room of an Assisted Living apartment, Richmond Painswick

Assisted living is aimed at those who do not need 24 hour nursing care provided by a care home but struggle with some everyday tasks. Assisted living is all about independence and if preferred, a client can purchase a property in the care village making them a home owner. There is also the opportunity to rent some of the apartments if buying is not a viable option.

The property and apartments are situated in the main village centre building and typically include a lounge, kitchenette and en-suite bedroom. Users have an ‘assisted living package’ which includes Cleaning on a daily basis, a laundry service and food.
