Designed to provide quality care alongside an excellent lifestyle, the care home is being developed on the site of a recently-demolished animal feed mill in Denby Dale and will create around 50 new jobs for the local community.

Meridian’s managing director, Susan Firth, commented: “We’re delighted to start building work. There is significant demand for modern luxurious care facilities in the area from families who are often caring for a relative at home.

“We believe our Premiere care homes are unrivalled in the quality of the finish and accommodation provided. The Millbrook in Tameside won Best Design for the Elderly at the prestigious national Pinders Design Awards in 2012, with The Oakes in Huddersfield a finalist in 2013.”

The facility will consist of twenty-seven large en-suite bedrooms and, as well as spacious communal areas, will include its own spa, skype internet lounge and hairdressing salon.

Pleased to see the hard work from four years of planning come to fruition, Richard Conroy, chief executive of Conroy Brook, commented: “We are delighted to be working with Meridian again on another state-of-the-art care facility. We recognised the potential in this brownfield site, and the benefits that a new care home would bring to the local community of Denby Dale and Kirklees, and knew that the team at Meridian would be the best people to deliver an outstanding care centre.”

The Denby Dale centre is due for completion early in 2014.
