A 'family feel' at the heart of Hayling Island care home's success

, located in a tranquil Hayling Island setting, is soon to celebrate its 10-year anniversary since opening as a specialist old-age and dementia care residence.

Owned by , who have another facility in Hampshire, the home has been successful in becoming an integral part of community life, blending expert and personalised care provision with the qualities of a homely setting, alongside support for an active lifestyle.

Group director Mr. Anuj Shah credits the trained team of staff for continuing to keep the standards high whilst also maintaining the dignity of service users at all times.

He comments: “As we approach our ten-year anniversary we are very proud of the service we have continued to provide over the years. From entering the Home you will be aware of the family feel and the welcoming atmosphere. We have always provided and will continue to provide specialist elderly care.

“We have been committed to provide and maintain the highest possible standard of care throughout the ten years. We believe we have achieved this and here’s to another ten years!!

“In light of our forthcoming ten-year anniversary, we will be hosting an Open Day on Thursday 7th November 2013 at Alton House Care Home. Feel free to visit, see our facilities, meet our friendly team and take a tour of Alton House Care Home”.

Alton House consists of eighteen bedrooms some of which have en-suite facilities and has an interior designed to match with service users’ tastes and preferences. Alton House welcomes both permanent stay and respite care needs.

The Home has a 24-hour call system to monitor service users’ well-being, while a tranquil setting allows both service users and visitors to make the most of their surroundings.

As he looks forward to marking the home’s 10-year anniversary, on 7 November, Mr Shah thanks all involved for their efforts over the last ten years, saying: “Many thanks to all relatives, service users, staff members and management for their continued support. The plaudits are a testament to the fantastic efforts and commitment of staff members to improving the quality of the lives of the people we care for.”

One residents’ next of kin also sent their best wishes:

“From the moment my mother and I visited Alton House Care Home, we knew we had found somewhere special, Friendly, family oriented and delicious looking food and a beautiful garden were made even more appealing by the presence of like-minded residents with whom she can socialise and enjoy the variety of activities.
