A helpline has been launched by Bupa offering free information to all older people about their care options and advice about other age related issues.

Care experts will be available seven days a week to offer guidance for people on understanding the care system, and will offer specialist assistance in areas such as paying for care, getting help in their own home and dealing with a diagnosis of age related conditions such as dementia.

The help line is available to everyone to use and is not limited only to Bupa customers.

The helpline has been launched after Bupa’s latest Health Pulse survey of 2,000 people revealed a quarter of people over the age of 65 worry about how they will pay for their care into old age.

Andrew Cannon, managing director, Bupa Care Services said: “Every day our carers and home managers work with families trying to understand the aged care system and who are looking for help and guidance on the challenges they are facing.

“These issues range from financial concerns and finding support to stay in their own homes to accessing other care settings, or for dealing with illness or conditions developed in later life.

“Our new helpline is there to offer free advice and information to anyone facing these issues – and you don’t need to be a Bupa customer to use it.”

The helpline is available to everyone can be contacted on 03339 206795 between 8am - 8pm on weekdays and 9am - 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
