Sandfields is a new Cheltenham care home that will soon be welcoming its first residents, thanks to a £6m Care UK investment.

Opening in February, the home is to offer person-centred residential and nursing care packages, as well as specialising in dementia care.

Consisting of 90 en-suite bedrooms, an innovative design also includes numerous means of stimulating residents and encouraging an active and interesting daily lifestyle. For example, residents will have access to their own café and cinema, a selection of smaller lounge and dining areas, as well as four well-kept and landscaped gardens.

Care UK customer relations manager, Elizabeth Miles, comments: "Care UK has built its reputation tailoring care plans to fit the requirements of each individual resident, working closely with families and friends to make sure the care environment feels like a 'home from home'.

"Sandfields has been designed to enhance residents’ lives in a host of ways, with its layout and facilities well thought-through to ensure residents’ needs are well served – from physical needs to likes and dislikes, hobbies and interests."

Interesting locals will be able to get a closer look at the home on January 17, as the Sandfields team is hosting a Dementia Friends event in the home’s marketing suite.

Ms Miles continues: "Sandfields represents a major investment for Care UK, and we are looking forward to welcoming those who want to see the high quality residential and nursing environment for themselves. We know from experience many families value the opportunity to secure a bed at a brand new purpose-built care home – where their loved ones can be the first to make the most of the facilities. Our doors are now open for those who want to meet the experienced team which is already on board, and find out more about the range of services we will be providing at Sandfields."

While being committed to enhancing the lives of older and vulnerable people, the home has also provided a significant employment boost to the local area, being expected to create 120 jobs.
