A new website has launched that focuses on helping families with disabled people feel better informed as to the accessibility of venues they are looking to visit.

Disabled access reviews website EuansGuide.com gathers opinions and ratings that allow disabled adults to plan visits based on the quality of accessibility, as well as helping disabled-friendly venues to promote themselves.

The website is the creation of Euan MacDonald, who in 2003 was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. His vision has gained approval from none other than world-famous author JK Rowling, who herself funded the Anne Rowling Clinic for regenerative neurology.

Welcoming the website launch, Rowling praises MacDonald’s contribution to disabled people’s lives, commenting: “I’m delighted to endorse Euan’s Guide, and to congratulate him on launching this pioneering website.

“I know, through meeting many people with MS who have disabilities, that there is a dearth of independent and unofficial information about venues and their accessibility. A friendly and straightforward guide, with information from users themselves, is an empowering development to be heartily recommended.”

She continues, “The site is a great way for people to share practical first-hand knowledge of venues which is otherwise difficult to find before visiting.

“We want to encourage as many disabled people as possible to get involved and add their experiences. Euan’s Guide will help people feel comfortable with visiting new places knowing that the venue will be accessible to them.”

Venues included on Euan’s Guide include places to stay, attractions, cinemas and sports grounds, as well as everyday amenities such as post offices and local services. Indeed, reviews of any venue in the world can easily be posted.
