Owners of Linden House, in Lymington, were pleased to welcome TV’s Doctor Hilary Jones to their public open day yesterday and even more delighted when he said that he was “absolutely blown away’ by the £7.5m facility.
Dr Hilary, who is also known for being a broadcaster and author, described the home as a centre of excellence and commended the home’s owners Colten Care Ltd for how they have advanced their portfolio over the years.
He commented: “Linden House acts as a shining light for the rest of the care sector.
“Over the years I have attended the opening of 12 Colten Care homes and each time I see improvements on the one before.
“I've been absolutely blown away by the attention to detail at Linden House. It's stunning.”
Opening in front of 150 invited guests, Linden House has created over 100 jobs in the area and can now offer its unique environment to clients, looking to fulfil its design vision of offering a friendly atmosphere of safety, security and togetherness.
Alongside the home’s support for specialist care, including for adults with dementia, Linden House has its own café, hairdressing salon and cinema, while there is also a gazebo, beach huts, and putting green within the grounds.
Residents with memory loss benefit from an interior design that includes colour schemes, themed rooms and navigational aids.
Colten Care's executive chairman, Ian Hudson, was pleased to report that a quarter of the rooms were already reserved, saying:
“We have 19 homes including four specifically for people living with dementia and memory loss. As a family company, our policy is ‘care before profit’ and we are looking to expand further.”
