Managing care home energy output was a leading concern at this year’s Care Forum 2014, which has been hailed as the most popular since it was first held 14 years ago.
Held on 9–10 June at the Whittlebury Hall Hotel, Northampton, the Care Forum featured a presentation entitled ‘Everything to do with energy’ from the Energy Desk’s Ian Edwards.
Other key seminar themes to inspire care sector thinking included ‘the use and benefits of e-procurement systems and online dashboards’, from Acquire Services’ Andy Badger; ‘multi-channel marketing & PR for an increasingly diverse audience’, from David Huckerby of GD PR & Media Ltd; ‘the impact of stress and wellness on value and performance’, from Rob Coulthard of Judgement Index; and ‘investments into health property’, from CBRE’s Tom Morgan.
Accompanying the choice of seminars, the Care Forum also featured 35 exhibiting suppliers and 65 delegates, as well as speakers who included Radcliffes LeBrasseur partner Andrew Parsons and MABO executive chairman Bill Fox. This excellent attendance resulted in a plethora of networking opportunities for those who have a vested interest in the future of the care sector, with over 750 meetings arranged within 36 hours thanks to a well-oiled format of pre-matched meetings.
Visitors who were keen to praise the event included Bennetts Castle Care, who issued the statement, “Thoroughly enjoyed the event – it was a good way to get updates and see different suppliers at one time. Great to chat with other managers and directors too.”
The Consortium also commented: “Superb event offering to meet providers and suppliers. I’ve made great contacts over the 2 days and I’m looking forward to returning next year!!”
The 2014 event was opened with a presentation from 2013’s Care Personality of the Year, Davina Ludlow and fellow carehome.co.uk director Will Blackwell.
