Around £5,000 has been raised by healthcare professionals attending industry events hosted by DP Events since the summer, for The Care Workers Charity.

The most recent two day forum held at the Grange St Pauls Hotel in London raised over £800, donated by attendees visiting from all aspects within the sector.

The charity provides assistance for current and retired carers facing financial hardship due to unforeseen circumstances, illness or injury. Help includes financial, emotional and practical support for anyone who has worked as a carer or their family during challenging periods of their life.

DP Events have been fundraising for the charity since the summer, encouraging leading care sector professionals at their events to donate money for the good cause.

Dr Asif Raja, chair of the fund said: “Through a simple collection, over £800 was collected, plus there was a great opportunity for people to hear about the work of the fund, and learn how they can get involved further. It just shows how eager those within the care sector are to support The Care Workers Charity, the rainy day fund for everyday heroes. We are also hugely grateful to DP events for the ongoing support and the opportunity to interact with so many key individuals and organisations.”

The Care Workers Charity was created in 2009 and continues to support the basic welfare of the nearly two million care workers in the UK. Funds have been raised for the charity in a variety of ways during 2014, with keen supporters raising money by taking on personal goals, physical challenges or by pledging their support through online donations.

DP Events organise business forums and corporate events within a range of sectors including healthcare and has been operating for over 13 years.
