Beaconsfield & Marlow MP, The Rt Hon Dominic Grieve QC, was warmly welcomed to Signature’s new care home in Marlow Friday 19th December.

Mr Grieve was given a tour of the community by General Manager, Stella Putt, and Senior Client Liaison Manager, Sarah Loveday, before meeting residents over a cup of tea.

Mr Grieve was impressed with the quality of both the building itself and also the facilities on offer to the residents. As they toured the show suites, Stella explained that residents are encouraged to bring their own furniture and personal possessions with them when they move in, so their suite immediately feels like home. Mr Grieve felt the en-suite wet rooms were both practical and well designed, and was pleasantly surprised to find that each suite has a kitchenette for residents to make themselves a hot drink if they would like.

Stella explained to Mr Grieve how this is an example of Signature’s ethos. Each resident is encouraged to be as independent as they would like, but within the comfort of an environment where there is always help on hand, should they need support or nursing.

Mr Grieve was then given an insight into a resident’s typical day, visiting both the formal and informal dining rooms, and chatting with residents about the daily activities on offer.

Mr Grieve met with residents Mrs Sheila Hunt and Mr Wallace Mackenzie, before being introduced to Mr Ted Brown, whose birthday celebrations of champagne and canapes were just commencing as Mr Grieve left.

As Mr Grieve’s visit ended, he suggested that – should the residents wish – he would be delighted to return in the New Year for a ‘question and answer’ session, an invitation which was warmly accepted by everyone at Cliveden Manor.
