People working in care homes are being urged to take part in a study being carried out by Cardiff University, to explore the best way of caring for residents in care homes.
Victoria Shepherd, a research nurse working on the Research Priority Setting in Care Homes project said: “Research is essential for developing better ways of providing care, by finding the evidence for practice that improves care.
“A team from Cardiff University is looking at new ideas for research to improve life and healthcare for those living in care homes, but need the input of people who have direct experience of providing care to make sure they are addressing the right questions to help achieve this.”
The research team is looking for questions about care provided on a day-to-day basis for older adults in care homes, which may include supporting and improving their health and wellbeing.
“These just need to be a short sentence about something that is important to you, but for which you haven’t been able to find an answer.
“You can provide as many or as few questions as you wish. Once all the research topics have been received they would like your help to order them in terms of importance or urgency,” said Ms Shepherd.
You can take part by completing an online survey which can be found at https://rps.sewtudb.cf.ac.uk/_cloki/?cc=1
