The final roof tile has been placed on the latest addition to Anchor’s prestigious range of care homes, Clayburn Court in Peterborough.

Staff of were joined by the vice-chair of Hampton Parish Council for the ceremony, alongside Anchor’s operations director Tim Seal, who commented:

“This is a proud moment for Anchor and it’s wonderful that Councillor Sharp has joined us to celebrate this milestone in the construction of what will be a fantastic care home. It’s exciting to see how Clayburn Court is developing and to show everyone what the home will be like when it is finished.”

Clayburn Court is a 64-bed facility that has been designed to suit a vibrant social and community environment, complete with its own hair and beauty salon and café and surrounded by landscaped gardens.

As well as providing specialist dementia care, the construction will also bring a jobs boost to the local area, with Anchor looking to recruit 40 people over the next month and double that once the home is fully occupied.

Christine Cooper, managing director for LNT, commented: “We are delighted to be working with Anchor on another fantastic new project. Clayburn Court is a high-quality care home in a brilliant location, designed to meet the needs of older people and dementia residents with state-of-the-art facilities and en-suite wet-rooms throughout. This is our second development for Anchor, and we are proud to be working together to bring people happiness in later life.”

Pleased with what she saw, councillor Marion Sharp said: “I feel residents will be very happy and well cared for here – I’m overwhelmed by how light and spacious the rooms are. It will be lovely to have the home so close to the school and the leisure centre, bringing all ages in the community together. I look forward to visiting Clayburn Court again when the build is complete.”
