Tony Tobin, the Reigate based chef from the Dining Room Restaurant, opened the new kitchen at Alvington House this morning. This is part of a refurbishment programme which will see a transformation of this family owned Reigate care home.

Tony spent some time with residents and staff and stayed to sample some food prepared by the homes own chef Amanda Van Holland.

Mrs Asaria said: ”We are also keen to provide better facilities for our staff and an improved environment for our residents. The new kitchen is just the start of a planned ongoing refurbishment programme. We are proud of Alvington House and keen to show it off.’

Alvington House came under new ownership of AMA Care Homes, run by the Asaria family, in December 2014.

Mohammed and Nasekah Asaria were attracted to Alvington House by the family feel generated by those living and working there and aim to maintain and build on that friendly atmosphere.

Alvington House is a beautiful detached house, standing in its own landscaped grounds, adjacent to Wray Common, Reigate.

The home specialises in caring for up to 25 people aged 65 and over, who enjoy reasonable health but are too frail, or no longer wish, to continue living alone in their own homes.
