Bespoke Care are delighted to announce the sale of Bernadette House in Lincoln. The privately owned residential care home was discretely marketed and a purchaser was sourced via the Bespoke Care network.
The new owner, Dr Elizabeth Stephens researched the UK healthcare sector and decided to invest seeking advice from a friend who was an existing care home owner and specialist brokers, accountants and lawyers who provided invaluable guidance throughout the process. All the advisors liaised closely – Mr Richard Nunn of GRP Finance arranged the funding, accountancy DD was overseen by Tony Hornsby of Mitchells and Daniel Corker, the independent specialist healthcare lawyer acted for Dr Stephens.
The business is rated highly by CQC and provides care for 34 service users in 30 x bedrooms – 22 with en suite facilities. Located in the South Park area of this cathedral city the home is a large Victorian former vicarage with a purpose built extension providing delightful bedrooms overlooking the gardens. Bernadette House also offers day care facilities providing varied, stimulating activities, companionship and care.
Anita Allen of Bespoke Care commented: "Our vendor client was keen to retire having owned the business for over 20 years. She wanted to maintain confidentiality and unnecessary unrest at the care home - we worked carefully with her having only a handful of viewings before an offer was accepted. As we say in our advertising 'Selling a care business is unlike selling any other' – we do understand this at Bespoke Care and we work ‘with’ owners amending our own systems if required so that each sale is managed personally and specifically how the clients wish."
Dr Stephens commented: "I am delighted to have completed this acquisition and I hope to continue to provide the highest standards of care and good quality environment for all the residents. This is a big investment into a highly regulated sector and I would recommend getting specialist professionals to assist – I want to thank my team for all their efforts."
