A purpose built care home in West Yorkshire has taken one step closer to completion as the team behind Garforth Care Home were joined by Councillor, Mark Dobson, to celebrate the traditional ‘topping out’ ceremony.
Garforth is the latest state-of-the-art care home to be built by the award-winning independent provider, Meridian Healthcare, and will offer residential care for up to 58 residents.
The home promises spacious accommodation, with residents living at the home benefitting from a range of facilities including the Elegance Hairdressing Salon, a spa and an onsite gymnasium.
Meridian Healthcare’s managing director, Paula Keys, said: “Meridian Healthcare has been providing high quality care across the North of England for over 25 years and we have used all of that experience in developing Garforth Care Home.
“Every aspect of this new development has been designed with its residents in mind, from the carefully considered layout of the living accommodation to the accessible landscaped gardens.
“Our focus is on carefully tailoring the support we provide towards our residents’ individual needs and the homely surroundings of this wonderful property, which will certainly support our exceptional standards of care.”
Whilst on site, Councillor Mark Dobson was able to see how the exciting development had progressed. He added: “My colleagues and I were clear that we wanted a new care home on the site, formerly occupied by Grange Court, a council run home demolished in 2014. We believed that housing would have been inappropriate on that location; close as it is to a council-run sheltered housing project.
“The new scheme fits in comfortably, and is in keeping with the immediate surrounding area. We are also pleased as councillors that it is an appropriate use of an existing brownfield site. As well as providing local accommodation needs for older residents we also hope that the scheme will generate local employment opportunities.”
