Residents at Kenilworth Manor in Warwickshire recently took part in a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in aid of national cancer charity, Breast Cancer UK.

The home is located in the Warwickshire countryside and provides care for 34 residents, offering personal, respite, convalescent care and physiotherapy.

Activities coordinator at Kenilworth Manor, Joy Thorpe, said: “We had a wonderful time in our own Wonderland after residents got involved and made some fantastic decorations for our tea party.

“We’ve raised funds towards treats and activities that help residents get together and be the close-knit, welcoming and friendly community we have built at Kenilworth Manor.

The charity event saw residents celebrate their ‘unbirthdays’ and create themed bonnets in celebration of the Lewis Carroll classic raising £542 in aid of Breast Cancer UK.

Friends and family members were invited to dress up and join the celebrations, while residents collected enough money to support an activities fund for the Kenilworth home.

Ms Thorpe added: “Thanks to the generosity of our families and friends we have also contributed to a very worthy cause in the form of Breast Cancer UK.”

Kenilworth Manor provide regular activities as a key part of day to day live, including: games of Scrabble, exercise sessions and outdoor walks, allowing residents the freedom to spend time in the home’s grounds and gardens.

Owned and run by Clarendon Care Group, Kenilworth Manor is situated in a three-storey mansion, built in the 1820s and carefully restored during in 1987.

The home has picturesque views of the Kenilworth countryside and large grounds for residents to socialise and walk in.
