Anya Court, Hallmark Care Home’s facility in Warwickshire, has celebrated its first anniversary with a 1950s party to mark the milestone event.

The residential, nursing and dementia home, which had its grand launch in October last year, put on a swinging celebration for residents, relatives and members of the local community with a 1950s party, complete with fancy dress, props and entertainment.

Commenting on the celebrations, customer relationship manager at Anya Court, Karen Handley, said: “We had a lot of fun celebrating our milestone. We have a strong, committed team at Anya who enable our resident’s to live full, active and independent lives. I would like to thank them for their continued support.”

During the day, residents of the home participated in a 1950s quiz, while enjoying a taste of the Rock ‘n’ Roll era with burgers, hot dogs, milkshakes and ice cream sundaes.

Among the 50 guests who attended the celebrations, was Anya Court’s first resident, Joan Ridgway, who was present at the homes grand launch, opened by television presenter John Craven.

Ms Ridgeway, aged 97 added: “It was a lovely day and a lot of fun, I am really happy here.”

Rugby Mayor Councillor, Richard Dodd, also attended the care home’s event. He commented: “I was delighted to attend the first year anniversary celebration at Anya Court Care Home and had the opportunity to meet with staff and residents whilst being entertained in true 1950's style.

“All the staff were great fun in their costumes and the residents had nothing but praise for the care, support and facilities provided. I would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff and residents for making my visit such a memorable occasion.”

Anya Court specialises in nursing, residential and dementia care and has been purpose built to offer residents innovative facilities and quality living environments.
