Colten Care will open its 20th care home this April and is hiring 120 people including registered nurses, health care assistants and activity organisers to work at the new home in Chichester.
Colten Care, which has 19 care homes covering Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire, provides residential, nursing and dementia care, has begun hiring for its newest and largest home known as Wellington Grange.
The nursing home will have 72 bedrooms in a three storey home based on the site of the former Roussillon Barracks, which was vacated by the Royal Military Police in 2005. Planning permission for housing on the site was granted in 2011.
Home manager of Wellington Grange Clare Gibson said: “We are well under way with recruiting staff who share our values in focusing on the care of the individual. Team members include registered nurses, health care assistants, activity organisers, caterers, housekeepers, gardeners and others.
“It’s a great privilege to be taking the reins. It’s not often that you are given the opportunity to be in at the start of something like this. I will really enjoy building a great team, working well together."
Two recruitment open days will be held at Wellington Grange on January 30 and February 2. People can visit the home from February 10 and its first residents will move in at the start of April.
She added: “Wellington Grange is the twentieth home we have built over the past 30 years. With that level of experience comes a huge learning process. It will offer beautiful, creative interior spaces, imaginatively landscaped gardens, delicious homemade food and state-of-the-art facilities, all underpinned by exceptional care standards.”
