Bernadette Gribben has recently taken up the role of Home Manager at Kingsway Private Nursing Home, she comes to Care Circle with an extensive nursing background.
In 1979, Bernadette registered as a staff nurse following completion of training in the Southern Group School of Nursing, Belfast City Hospital.
In 1980, following completion of the Orthopaedic Nursing Certificate in Musgrave Park Hospital, she worked in Arkansas, USA for three years before returning to Belfast to complete her Coronary Care Certificate.
For 8 years Bernadette worked as Ward Sister in an Acute Medical Ward in the Downe before moving to the Royal Group of Hospitals to take up post as a Nursing Officer.
Following years saw her work focusing on leading Nursing Education in the RGH, and then as Business and Contracts Manager on behalf of DHSSPSNI.
Bernadette also has experience heading up a programme of work to support staff within The Belfast Trust to enhance person-centred practice across acute, mental health Learning disability and community settings. This new post as Home Manager in Kingsway Nursing Private Home draws upon her experience as a nurse over 34 years.
Bernadette aims to make Kingsway Private Nursing Home the leading person-centred care facility in Northern Ireland. She looks forward to meeting participants at the next Kingsway Support Group on Tuesday, 16 February at 7.00pm and is seeking volunteers to help inject life and dynamism into the home once more.
