carehome.co.uk reveals the UK’s most recommended care homes

The UK’s leading care home review site has revealed which care homes have won awards for being the most recommended care homes in the country.

This is the third year of running the awards with thousands of care homes battling it out to make it into the Top 20 for each of the 12 regions.

As well as the region’s finalists, carehome.co.uk has also decided this year to run awards for the most recommended large, mid-size and small care providers.

The awards are based on the care home’s recommendations from their residents, plus friends and relatives of residents.

Davina Ludlow, director of carehome.co.uk, said: “We want to congratulate all the care homes that won an award.

“We feel the best people to rate a care home are the residents and their families and friends. Their recommendations show that so many care homes are warm and inviting places to live where residents receive loving and compassionate care.

“Looking for the right care home can be tough. We hope our awards will help to make people’s search that little bit easier.”

New category

Ms Ludlow added: “This year, we are very pleased to have been able to add a new category to our carehome.co.uk awards for the top recommended care home groups.

“We wanted to show the huge difference that care home groups, which put compassion and respect at the heart of their care, make to people’s lives.”

carehome.co.uk lists all registered UK care homes and helps people search for the right care home.

Reviews and recommendations

The carehome.co.uk Top 20 Care Home Awards 2016 are based on over 55,000 reviews & recommendations received from residents and their family and friends between 15 February 2014 and 15 February 2016.

We have used the Review Score, as of 15 February 2016, which is calculated using a combination of the number of reviews, the average of each of the ratings and the size of the care home. Care homes are excluded from the awards if they are not compliant with their regulatory authority at the time of the announcement of the awards.

The homes were rated on: Overall Standard; Facilities; Care / Support; Cleanliness, Treated with Dignity; Food & Drink; Staff; Activities; Management; Safety / Security; Rooms and Value for Money.
