Crystal Court Care Home in Pannal, just outside Harrogate, is delighted to announce five green lights and an overall GOOD rating from a recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) report this month.
Representatives from CQC undertook an unannounced visit to the home on the 5th February 2016, and the report has come through rating it good across all areas of being a safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led service.
Located close to local amenities and with strong connections to the community centre, the Executive Care home provides care and accommodation across three units, with general nursing dementia residential and dementia nursing for up to 62 residents.
The report stated that “Crystal Court provided good care and support for the people that lived there. People we spoke with said they felt safe and they spoke positively about the care and support they received.”
The staff were praised for their knowledge and experience, including creating a relaxed atmosphere through lunch, making people smile, chatting and creating an enjoyable experience at this key point in the day.
Ratings were given based on observations of the home by the unannounced CQC team and on conversations with staff, residents and their relatives.
Feedback included;
“Staff seem to do a lot of training and when we talk to them they appear to be confident.”
“Staff are brilliant. They knock on my door before they come in and they know what I want and leave me to it.”
Additional positive comments in the report related to the activities on offer and the safe and efficient distribution of medication.
Judith Cumiskey, Home Manager, commented; “What a great outcome for the home, we are delighted with the positive report from CQC. We have been working hard as a team to create the right environment with the best care in our home and the report is a real testament to that hard work. We consistently work hard to maintain our service at this high level and we take great pride in having this recognised and in receiving this good report.”
