Hallmark Care Homes managing director, Avnish Goyal and regional director, Kieron Walsh have so far raised over £9,000 in sponsorship for the charity that equips young people with valuable skills for education, work and life through outdoor learning programmes.

Avnish Goyal, managing director of Hallmark Care Homes said: “We are incredibly excited to take part in this challenge and support The Outward Bound Trust, which enables young people to become more confident and capable at school and in the workplace and leaders of the future.

“So far we have raised an amazing £9,158 and I would like to thank our sponsors for their very kind donations.”

The pair attempting the gruelling challenge will drive over 700 miles in three days across seven countries in Europe.

The cars chosen for the challenge cost no more than £500 and will navigate some of the world’s most famous and difficult driving roads.

A 15-year-old Jaguar and a nineteen-year-old Saab with a leaking roof, will be tackling mountain passes and steep bends in journeys estimated to take over seven hours each day.

They will be kept company for the duration of the journey by their partners and their families.

Kieron Walsh, regional director at Hallmark Care Homes added: “We are very much looking forward to this challenge and embracing it as an opportunity to bond as a team. We are keeping our fingers crossed that we have no problems with our Rusty Rally cars and I would like to thank all of our current sponsors for their continued support.”

The determined pair are expected to finish their intense road trip on 12 June and continue to raise as much money for the charity as possible.
