Adult social care provider, Swanton Care and Community is celebrating after being crowned ‘Complex Care Provider of the Year’ at the Health Investor Awards 2016.
The company collected the award at a high-profile awards ceremony at Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, in central London last week.
Swanton Care & Community Ltd was praised for its delivery of ‘innovative care pathways and ambitions plans to address the national shortage of high-quality Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and neuro rehabilitation services'.
Chief executive of Swanton Care and Community, Alison Rose-Quirie, collected the award in front of 1,200 leading industry figures from across the independent healthcare sector.
Ms Rose-Quirie spoke of how she was honoured to receive the accolade on behalf of Swanton Care and Community and thanks the team involved in the delivery of complex care services.
She said: “I am delighted that Swanton have won this award and would like to thank all of our hard working team for ensuring that we continue to innovate and provide the best possible personalised care to people with complex and challenging needs.
“We know that there is a gap in current care provision that means patients are forced to stay in acute hospitals much longer than they need to.
“Our service, Eden View, is an excellent example of the level of care that can be provided in the community with the right staff, the right training, the right culture and working in partnership with the NHS.
“We want to expand upon this success and make sure there are more services that offer a pathway for people to move out of acute hospital, through targeted rehabilitation and then back home.”
A spokesman for the Health Investor Awards 2016 said Swanton Care and Community was a deserving winner. He said: “Swanton Care and Community impressed with their recent review of services and their subsequent development of innovative new services and pathways in partnership with commissioners and other providers.”
