Care home resident Vincent Wilson renewed his wedding vows with his wife Margaret in celebration of their 50 years of marriage.
Mr Wilson who lives at Bradley Manor care home in Belfast had a second wedding day complete with champagne and a priest to perform the ceremony.
He had performed in a bagpipe band for many years and one of his friends came with his bagpipes to accompany the happy couple into the room.
Following the renewal of vows, there was a buffet plus a wedding cake, followed by live music.
Rozzi Kennedy, activity therapist with Bradley Manor, said: “It was important that we made this day really special. I enjoyed working closely with the family to ensure things ran smoothly, whilst bearing in mind that Mr Wilson didn’t get stressed or anxious. Everyone – family, friends and staff – enjoyed the day."
Operations director, Mandy Mitchell, added: “We ensure that residents enjoy every day in Bradley Manor and we know that Mr and Mrs Wilson really enjoyed renewing their vows. Everyone at Bradley Manor loved taking part in their big day – a day that made so many family memories and we are glad in helping make it so special.”
