Leeming Garth Care Home has been rated ‘good’ in all categories of a report published by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following an unannounced inspection in March. The home offers residential care in the pleasant rural village of Leeming Bar, North Yorkshire.

Residents and relatives told the inspectors what it’s like to live at Leeming Garth Care Home:

One resident told inspectors:

“The staff here are very kind and helpful. If I need any help I only need to ask for it. I have my own room and everybody is nice. I have nothing to worry about and I do feel safe with the staff. It has been the right move for me.”

A relative said:

“I am pleased my Mam is here, I know she is safe and well looked after. I could not give her all the help she needs so it’s taken a lot of worry away from me.”

Another relative said:

“My Mam enjoys her food. They do give a good choice and plenty of fruit to snack on. I have stayed to have my dinner on the odd occasion. I have always enjoyed it. The food is excellent and the staff are too.”

During the inspection, CQC inspectors spoke to 13 residents and 7 relatives. The inspectors complimented the home on the feedback they received from the 20 people they’d spoken to stating:

“Without exception, everyone we spoke with told us they were happy with the care they were receiving and described staff as very kind, respectful and caring.”

Lorna Burn, Leeming Gath Care Home Manager, said:

“The staff team are truly dedicated to supporting the residents and providing the kindest care. I’m so proud of everyone who delivers the wonderful care that made this report possible.”

HC-One Managing Director Glen Mason, said:

“I’m delighted the CQC has recognised the hard work and commitment the home has to the Residents, relatives and staff. It’s a great acknowledgement of how HC-One provides the kindest care.”
