Leeming Garth Fundraiser for Help for Heroes

Residents from Leeming Garth care home recently paid a visit to Phoenix House in Catterick to present a cheque following a successful Bake for Heroes bake sale; an initiative from Help for Heroes.

The bake sale was held at Leeming Garth and was led by one of the home's residents.

Home Manager, Lorna Burn, said:

"We have an active Resident's committee within Leeming Garth care home, and often discuss causes and charities that the Residents would like to support.

"With Phoenix House Recovery Centre being so close to Leeming Garth and knowing the great work that Help for Heroes does for our veterans it was an easy and very popular choice.

"Our Residents are fully engaged with the extensive activities programme going on in their home and an opportunity to raise funds whilst making and selling delicious cakes was an opportunity grasped with both whisks!"
