Avery Lodge Care Home's 'Cuddles and Cake' group

Last Week Avery Lodge Care Home started a group called 'Cuddles and Cake' where mums from the local community come in to brighten up the residents’ day bringing along their little ones.

When asked if they were looking after the children the residents jokingly responded “not at my age” and added that they were there to offer the mums advice should they need it. Both the children and the residents had a great morning and it even inspired Jo Jingles, a baby group that involves music and movement to request to work with Avery Lodge too.

Bianca Herbert, a mum who attended the group said: “Thank you for this wonderful experience, I brought my 4-year-old twins to Cuddles and Cake with a few of their favourite toys to show the residents. There were lots of smiles and cake! Avery Lodge seems to be a really nice care home; we will definitely be back for the next meeting.”

Avery Lodge Care Home is located in Grantham, Lincolnshire and provides dementia care, palliative care, residential care and respite care.
