OPEN DAY AT BAYFORD HOUSE BUPA CARE HOME, NEWBURY

Staff and residents at Bayford House Bupa Care Home, at Rookwood, Stockcross, Newbury, are preparing to offer everyone a warm welcome and a taste of typical care home life at a fun-packed event which is being held to mark Care Home Open Day.

Care Home Open Day is a joint initiative by all the UK’s leading care providers, aims to showcase everything that’s good about care homes, showing what enjoyable and stimulating places they can be to both live and work in.

Bayford House Bupa Care Home is inviting the community to join them on Thursday April 19 from 2pm to 4pm for a fun event - with the chance to hold and pet visiting farm animals, as well as musical entertainment with Musical Memories with the Carousel Theatre. Tea and cake will be provided, and local schoolchildren from Stockcross CofE Primary will be singing to add to the atmosphere.

The day will also provide a great opportunity for those considering a career in the sector. Staff will be on hand to answer any questions and guests will be able to see first-hand just how rewarding their work is, and explore the wide variety of career opportunities that are available.

Home manager at Bayford House Bupa Care Home, Claire Cullen, said: "This is a great way to show the excellent services on offer and the fantastic work that goes on at Bayford House. Some people still have misconceptions about care homes, so we are keen to dispel any myths and for our local community to come and have a look around, meet the staff and our residents and take part in the day.”
