Ty Eirin Care Home near Llantrisant was delighted to welcome Dr Claire Royston, Four Seasons Health Care's Group Medical Director, to their home last month.

Dr Claire met with a number of members of staff, including Cook Amy Llewellyn, who talked Dr Claire through the modified textured diets she is serving at Ty Eirin.

It was also an opportunity for residents to speak to Dr Claire about life in the home, and Mr Wyndham Croad (pictured) enjoyed a chat with Dr Claire about the stories and poems he has written while living at Ty Eirin.

Dr. Claire Royston joined Four Seasons Health Care in 2011 as Medical Director for The Huntercombe Group. She was appointed as a member of the Senior Management Team in 2013 and became Group Medical Director in 2014.

Previously she held a number of senior positions within the NHS covering both clinical practice and research. She was registered as a specialist in General Adult and Old Age Psychiatry in 1997. She was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2005 and was Vice President of the Royal Society of Medicine between 2004 and 2006. She has published numerous articles and contributed to a series of text books covering scientific and clinical aspects of her field. She lectures nationally and internationally on aspects of health and social care, offender management and the care and treatment of vulnerable individuals particularly in relation to mental capacity and autonomy.
