Peter Young, who was 40 years old, died last week.

Tanzeel Younas, director of Your Care Provider, which runs West Park Care Home, is planning a 5k run, along with his care home colleagues, to raise money for mental health charities in memory of Peter Young. They have set up a gofundme page which says: ‘Peter was a loved father, son, nephew, grandson and a fantastic member of our little caring family.

‘It’s scary how little help there is out there to support individuals who are in need.’

Mr Younas told carehome.co.uk: “Pete was a much valued member of staff, nothing was ever too much for him. He always had a smile on his face. No one had any idea to suggest Pete was struggling with mental health issues.

“As employers we must take responsibility for the wellbeing of our teams. Whilst Peter was busy caring for our residents, who was caring for Peter?”

Relatives of the residents he cared for have also paid tribute to him on facebook, with one saying: 'Didn't know you long Pete but you were so good with mum I will never forget you for that, a great carer'. While another said: ‘True gentleman really looked after my grandad when he was in west park, good carer’.

'Handsome man with a great personality'

A fellow care worker said: ‘Worked with Pete at Wilton and had so many fun times. Handsome man with a great personality.’
